I’m posting my first results from Substance Painter. There are some things I like about how it rendered and some things I am pretty unhappy with. As I suspected, the cylinder looks really wonky and the UV maps are way off.
Generally antique revolvers have a pattern engraved on them, similar to this one:
I was hoping I could paint something on that would at least mimic this style, but the texturing results I got from the Gravity Sketch model are just horrible. I really need to remake the cylinder as just one piece somehow in Blender, but that means learning yet another piece of software.
I’m sure I’ll get UV maps eventually!
